Necessity is the mother of invention
Lately we’ve run into an unusual problem with the website of one of our customers. Some information on their website was saved as an image containing text.
It was extremely important to acquire this data in order to provide the product feed with additional information. The problem was that we weren’t able to download it from the website code in any way simply because it wasn’t there. All we had was the picture with text.
Since we always do our best to find a solution to any problem, we decided that the only option was to implement an OCR mechanism that would allow us to read the text embedded in the image.
A few days of coding and testing of our new solution proved to be a success: now we have a fully functional and multilingual OCR. Already at this point, we can offer to put an extensive scope of information in our customers’ product feed.
